Membership Changes for ORAP
At its July meeting, ORAP will formally welcome eight new members and recognize the outstanding service of its five members whose terms are expiring.
The expertise and contributions of these outgoing members will be sorely missed; however, the incoming members bring exceptional qualifications in their own right. The new membership of ORAP will surely continue to provide trusted, independent advice to the nation’s ocean enterprise.
The departing members include:
- Ms. Debra Hernandez, Southeast Coastal Ocean Observing Regional Association (Vice-Chair)
- Dr. Peter Betzer, St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership
- Dr. Robert Cowen, University of Miami
- Dr. Shirley Pomponi, Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution
- Dr. Larry Robinson, Florida A&M University
The incoming members include:
- Dr. Dennis Bartels, Exploratorium
- Dr. Don Boesch, Ocean Studies Board (representing the National Academies)
- Dr. John Gannon, International Joint Commission
- Dr. Margaret Leinen, Climate Response Fund
- Dr. Steven Ramberg, Areté Associates
- Dr. Andrew Rosenberg, Conservation International
- Dr. Robert Weller, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution
- Dr. Clarice Yentsch, Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences
