A review panel was held on February 2 to examine the proposals received by the NOPP office from the funding announcement on Marine Mammal Detection and Monitoring. Funding decisions will be available on the NOPP website shortly.

The NOPP office would like to welcome Dr. Margaret Leinen, Executive Director of Florida Atlantic University’s (FAU) Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, to her new role as Chair of the Ocean Research Advisory Panel (ORAP). The next ORAP meeting will be April 25-26, 2011 at the Consortium for Ocean Leadership in Washington, DC. The ORAP will discuss input to the development of the nine Strategic Action Plans of the National Ocean Policy and briefings will be held on data management. The meeting is open to the public.
