ORAP Industry Sub-panel
The Industry Sub-panel is convened by the ORAP to facilitate a means for the U.S. industrial sector to provide their input, views and expertise in the following areas: (1) Achieving and sustaining an Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS); (2) Promoting lifelong ocean education; (3) Modernizing ocean infrastructure and enhancing technology development; and (4) Fostering interagency partnerships to increase and apply scientific knowledge.

24-25 May 2011 Offshore Renewable Energy: Accelerating the Decision Making Process
The Industry Sub-panel of the ORAP hosted a workshop to discuss recommendations to open the discussion about ways that the process by which new projects are eventually put in the water can be accelerated. The workshop consisted of seven panels on various topics, three keynote speakers, and time for open discussion. The outcome of the workshop will be key recommendations formulated by the workshop attendees –federal agencies representatives and members of industry- as actions they would like to see implemented in order to better the offshore renewable energy industry in the U.S.
