Recommendations for Implementing a Biodiversity Observing Network

Group RSS

The Biodiversity Observing Network (BON) Online Forum is the first step in garnering input from the scientific and policy community on recommendations from the Attaining Operational Marine Biodiversity Workshop, which occurred 24-27 May 2010 in Washington, DC. The full draft report, including case studies and recommendations, is available for comment. These recommendations for a marine BON will be disseminated to the Interagency Working Group on Ocean Partnerships. A final report is expected in January 2011. The workshop report and recommendations will be presented at several academic venues and conferences. The BON Online Forum is an important opportunity for the scientific and policy community to review recommendations and to provide input for consideration of a national BON. Your constructive input and support will help shape important recommendations in support of a national BON in the U.S. Please provide any comments by Friday, November 19, 2010.
