A milestone was reached this spring toward building a strong ocean acidification (OA) research community in the U.S., when the first workshop for U.S. OA researchers was held on March 22-24, 2011, at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Read more
The Interagency Working Group on Facilities and Infrastructure’s Task Force on Unmanned Systems (TFUS) held their second meeting at the Consortium for Ocean Leadership, to discuss the results of a data call requesting input on agencies’ mission requirements for unmanned systems and governance and policy issues associated with unmanned systems. A joint expedition funded by MMS and NOAA to study the distribution and abundance of deepwater coral habitats in the Gulf of Mexico recently departed from Key West, Florida. This project is conducted under the auspices of the National Oceanographic Partnership Program. Read more
