NOPP Program Update: November/ December 2015

During the months of November and December, the NOPP Office provided support to the Interagency Working Group on Facilities and Infrastructure (IWG-FI) as they continued to focus on fleet status and modernization. The Office also provided support to the Interagency Working Group on Ocean Partnerships (IWG-OP) on their work developing partnership opportunities and assisting fledgling NOPP projects with organization and outreach.

The NOPP Office facilitated a two-day workshop for the Advancing Air-Ocean-Land-Ice Global Coupled Prediction on Emerging Computational Architectures project. The NOPP Office also supported the Federal Renewable Ocean Energy Working Group (FROEWG) as they discussed progress with offshore wind energy development and marine hydrokinetic projects.

The NOPP also unveiled its new exhibit booth, engaging with academic and industry members of the Earth and space science community about its activities at the 2015 American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting, hosted by the American Geophysical Union from December 14th through December 18th in San Francisco, CA.
